Data overload

The start times are up. I am in wave #16 of 34, starting at 6:48am.  yuck–that’s actually 30 minutes later than I had hoped.  Women 35-39 are the next to last women to start. That totally sucks. It means that lots of testosterone fueled lunatics will be screaming at me during the bike leg: “ON YOUR LEFT. MOVE OVER TO YOUR RIGHT!” Pinheads.  They expect you to jump the curb for them.  So I’ll be starting the race at 6:48. I feel sorry for the men (age 45-49) who are in waves 33 and 34 who are starting at 8:31am and 8:35am, but who have to be out of the transition area, where all their race equipment is, by 5:45am.  With any luck I’ll be crossing the finish line with the winner of that age group.

My week will be different than I had expected due to a death in my family.  My mother’s first cousin died of lung cancer yesterday, so my mother will be staying with me Wed-Fri AM and we’ll go to the funeral on Thursday. I’m not sure that I’ll be able to fit in another workout before Friday because I want to be able to spend good quality time with the mother. She was close to this cousin and family stuff is more important than a race. Still, I am a litle thrown off.

For entertainment, I have been looking at this website. It is the best calculator EVER: http://www.mcmillanrunning.com/rununiv/mcmillanrunningcalculator.htm

Sorry to hear about your mom’s cousin. But who knows? Perhaps the change of schedule wiill work for your race time, not against. You never know. In any case, good luck. And my condolences to your mom.

I am also sorry to hear about your mother’s (and your) loss. Use this down time to collect yourself and work on your mental game.

Mentally I’ll be there…on the sidelines….screaming: “Go Crankygirl Go”!!!

That is a great link! I’ll have to add it to my blog. Thanks!

Whoops - missed it! Consider yourself un-tagged. Sorry. Is your race this Saturday or Sunday?
