Food! I love food!
Last night, I had a revelation. After a day in which I was exhausted, disgruntled and tearful I went out to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Spring Street Natural Restaurant. I shared a mozzarella and tomato appetizer, ate a leek encrusted codfish filet with mashed potatos and snowpeas and ate half a peach crumble and half a mint chip/brownie ice cream sandwich. At some point during the mashed potatoes, I was filled with an incredible sense of well-being which was heightened during the brownie and ice cream eating. I’d like a picture of my brain: “This is your brain on food…any questions?”
I got to the subway and encountered someone who was struggling with her MetroCard at the ONLY available turnstile. I helped her without any irritability. On the way home, a little kid evicted me from my seat so she could look outside. Her mother was embarrassed. I felt fine about it–I was filled with delicious, filling food.
Then I watched So You Think You can Dance. I have been cheering this season for Danny, the insanely beautiful, wildly talented, gay Black dancer who is better than anyone else. I voted for him 20 times last night.
I FINALLY had a good night of sleep and then read my New Yorker on the way to work. I was so engrossed that I read the magazine on the 5 block walk to work and in the elevator.
For the sake of sanity enhancement, what I really need in my life is more food, more sleep, more beautiful dancers and more reading. I’m not sure that weight watchers fits into this “sanity” model. I’m taking the matter under advisement.

I haven’t been there in over a decade, but I still have dreams about Spring Street Natural. Yum. I wonder if it’s lunchtime yet…

Eventually you’ll need bigger clothes though…that’s the drawback of all that food, sleeping, dancer watching, and reading. Maybe you could do the last two while exercising on a treadmill!
Now I am hungry…where did I put that not so delicious banana???

I had a peek at their menus and now I’m hungry, dammit!
