I didn’t womit. Yay me.

No news about the cat yet.  I’ll update when I hear something, probably this evening.

Last night I had my worst run in a while.  It was supposed to be four miles: slowest, faster, slow, fastest.  After the first two I felt like I was dying.  I didn’t have my watch with me and R subsequently told me that we did the supposedly slowest mile in just over 11 minutes and the next one in the same amount of time.  But I didn’t know that until the end when I felt like womiting.  Ideally my times for this workout are 12:40, 11:30, 12, 10ish.  When the first miles are too fast, the rest of the workout is death-march-from-the-gulag style.  Not fun.

It also took away my appetite, which almost never happens. I was eating fruit with granola and yogurt afterwards and after I ate half of it felt like my stomach was full of rocks.  Sensation of fullness?  Doesn’t involve bread, butter and ice cream?  Wrong address.

I’m concerned because tomorrow is supposed to be a 10 mile run for us.  The idea of doing 10 miles makes me want to cry. I hope some stretching, some slowing and some carb loading will help my attitude. Bad runs happen so randomly–I just hope that they don’t happen in clusters.

That’s how all exercise affects me. Which is one reason I tend to avoid it. Empty stomach (and when would that be, exactly?) or nothing.

Oh Crank - I’m sorry to hear this. I hate when this happens, then you get all those little voices of doubt going. Was it really hot? I think lots of people are struggling right now. Take that 10 slower if you have to and just finish. You will get through it. I am firm believer that you getting through this one is going to make you stronger in some way. I think the next one is going to be better. Hang in there!!!

Get a some good food in you this evening and get a good night’s rest. Run as early as you can tomorrow and make sure you get a healthy breakfast in you before you head out the door.

Remember: We have these really crappy runs to make us appreciate the good ones! Like Nancy said: Hang in there!
