Coming soon
We had another uninspiring run last night. At least we had negative splits–we did the first 2 miles in 27 minutes and the second two miles in 24:20. With the increased heat and humidity, we were happy to stop after four miles. I’m nervous about doing 16 miles on Sunday and I don’t think it’s necessary to do that much, since we’re doing 18 next weekend. But I’ll give it a shot. We only have 6 weeks until the marathon; it’s a little frightening how fast it’s coming.
I keep thinking that I’m “supposed to” spend tomorrow fasting and praying. It’s funny how doing that doesn’t feel like a religious experience to me. I’m going to services tonight at the Javits Center–a big convention center off the highway. I’ve never done that before, but I hear that it’s good.
Happy weekend. Next week I’ll reporting on grand jury duty. Yes!

Oooh, grand jury duty? So….what’d you think of Survivor?

They’d better not put you on a jury that prevents you from kayaking! I keep meaning to ask you what kind of running schedule you’ll need while you’re out here. Maybe I can plan some routes.

Re: the perfume/cologne issue - I don’t even do so much as wash my face before I go out for my exercise. It makes me wonder if these people don’t plan on showering after their workouts. Ack. My aversion to over-cologning is such that even on a crowded el train or city bus I prefer natural human sweat smell over too much spray-on stink. Also, for the record, I would be proud and pleased to be related to you!
