It’s a tired Friday for me. I can’t seem to shake it off–I feel like I might be getting sick. Fortunately and unfortunately I have a haircut tonight. Fortunately because my hair is driving me crazy and unfortunately because I won’t be home until 9.
We have 2 weeks and 2 days until the marathon and the humidity [...]

I have been seized with anxiety. Anxiety-Cranky.
After looking at ads for months and seeing nothing, I had decided that looking at apartments would be a post-marathon task…and it probably will be. However, yesterday I saw a webposting for a great-looking apt and the open house is Sunday. ARRGGHH!
I am one of those people whose questions have [...]

Thanks to all you commenters. Nice to know that you’re there.
A few days after I run 20 miles I become ravenous, so I am now ravenous. I’m eating a lunch which should satify me, but won’t. I may buy some chocolate…if anyone deserves chocolate, it’s me! We did a four mile run yesterday and agreed [...]

In addition to not peeing, there was much Advil in my body on Sunday. My major complaint on Sunday was the seizing up of my right shoulder, which is rare for me. Perhaps I need to return to the chiro. I had taken two Advil at 6:30AM and by 11 I noticed that I could [...]

It’s been a relatively good day, but I’m looking forward to going home and putting my feet up. Considering that I ran 20 miles yesterday, I don’t feel bad–just ready for a rest. Yesterday we got a ride home from an acquaintance, who was still hanging around the finish because her leg at cramped up [...]

I am pleased to report that the 20 miles are behind me. They weren’t particularly hard for 20 miles, but 20 miles is always tough (we did 6.9 miles before a half-marathon race). I did the 1/2 marathon route slower than last year (13:20/mile compared with 12:45) and that made a big difference. The weather [...]

I was pretty cranky this morning because the cat polluted the litter box and from 3 rooms and 20 feet away, the stench dragged me out of bed before 7.
I’m happy with how it turned out, though, because I got to the local Greenmarket just before 8. It was wonderful. I bought scallops and there was no wait [...]

Sbucks is featuring my favorite coffee this week–Verona. At least in NY. When I was visiting Harriet the Starbucks in suburban IL was featuring another coffee. It was also the most inefficient SB that I’ve ever been to. The woman in front of me ordered a Venti no-whip Vanilla skim Latte. The lady at the register [...]

I am eating a beautiful wonderful lunch. I was waiting for a co-worker, who got stuck on the phone. As a result, instead of getting over-priced healthy food, I got a cheddar cheeseburger and fries. Can you imagine the goodness of the slightly well-done fries? Barring a thunderstorm, tonight will be my third consecutive night [...]

I’m still gathering my forces after being away from my routine for awhile. Right now, I wish I could just run and sleep and run. And eat.
Last night we did four miles at a 13:10/12:40/12:40/10:35 pace. The fast mile felt GOOD–that’s how I know that summer is over. I went again tonight, so I can [...]
