bits and pieces
Thanks to a heads up from Harriet, I am listening to the Nellie McKay program from the Fresh Air website. She is hilarious and on a rainy Monday it is a welcome respite from the drear. My favorite quote about her was in the Village Voice and attributed to a drag queen, “McKay recently smirked to an interviewer that she hates the cast [of Threepenny Opera], prompting Rennard to respond, ‘She’s a professional retard. If Judy Garland had done meth, you’d have Nellie McKay. I love her!’”
I have done my duty and have conquered a meal of turkey. I decided that frying some mashed potato would help me get that turkey soup down and I was right. Take that, turkey leftovers!
I’m still doing some hacking, but it’s diminished every day since Friday. The fits are causing my boss to suggest that I have pneumonia…nah. Well, I hope not.
I’m sure this has been fascinating for everyone. I have to go read my new book, which I recommend highly.

I just listened to the McKay interview - LOVE her! Also, I think I heard the author of that book interviewed on NPR a while back. I’ll have to add it to my list.
