Pray tell
I do love having Mondays off. I went for a run in the freezing cold and then came home to enjoy the heat of my apartment. There were dishes to be done, a book to be finished, and tennis to be watched. I love a cold Winter day because hiding in your apartment with a good book and a cup of tea seems socially sanctioned and sane rather than seeming like the mark of a recluse.
I also watched Northanger Abbey and was quite disappointed. Indeed, I never expected Catherine to be such a simpering fool. Pray tell, Mr. BBC, why have you treated us so ill?
In my research into the “Northanger” cast, I discovered that they are doing a remake of Brideshead Revisited. There is a fantastic 11 hour mini-series from 1981–why would anyone try to boil that into a 2 hour movie? I’m still waiting to be the proud owner of the miniseries on VHS. Sigh.

Ha! I watched NA, too and I KNEW you would be sitting there hating it. I enjoyed it but I’m easily amused on a Sunday night. Esp when I haven’t read that particular Austen so I had nothing to compare it to. I’ll take all the Austen (good or bad) they PBS can throw at me. Better than sleeping on Red’s floor, frankly.
