Opern up your heart
On Wednesday I signed up for the NY Metro Danskin women’s triathlon. By Thursday, registration was closed. My primary project this summer will be training for the NY marathon (again), but I figured that I would throw a few 10-15 mile bike rides and a weekly swim at the public pool in Jul and Aug and do a triathlon that is meant for beginners. Just for fun! My friend E also plans to do the race.
Readers of my old blog may remember that I did a half-iron distance race (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride, 13.1 mile death-march…er…run) 2 years ago–that was a big mistake. The race was way more than I could handle and my lungs felt like sandpaper for a week, despite my asthma medication. But Danskin is a sprint distance–1/2 mile swim, 11 mile bike ride and a 3.1 mile run should be do-able and fun! And ALL WOMEN. I love an all-women’s race.
Yesterday, in my comments, Jen suggested that I have a theme song for my blog. I can’t figure out what that would be. I DO like the idea of using Pebbles and BamBam’s version of Let the Sun shine in, but I fear the irony would be lost on some folks.
Open up your heart and let the SUN SHINE….Innn…Innn…IN–let the sun shine in!

“Smilers never lose, and frowners never win…”. WHY do I remember that song? It would be the ideal choice for you.

How about “Witchy Woman” by the Eagles?

I’ll share my theme song….”Wild Thing” by the Trogs. That sort of encompasses all people born on Feb. 12th. “….they make everything…groooovy!” Meh, just a thought. Letting the sun shine in sounds great at the moment.
