Am I driving?
I am in the process of doing a root touch-up on my hair. The problem: I forgot to put the gloves on. I realized the glove problem halfway through, when I noticed that the fingernails on my right hand were encrusted with dark brown hairdye. It’s lovely.
It’s a rainy day and since yesterday morning I have run almost 12 miles. Right now I’m tired and motivated only to read. No new plans with the coffee-guy…it’s nerve-racking, but mainly because I don’t like making last minute plans. OK, we have tentative plans for Wednesday and…I guess that’s good.
Yesterday I registered for the year’s first half-marathon, which is three weeks from today. It’s a women’s only event, targeted at, but not limited to women 40 and over. R and I did it last year and intend to do it at a friendly, moderate pace just “for fun”–if that’s possible.
I’m going to take myself into the shower to try to scrub the dye off my hair and especially off my fingernails. I love it when my brain shuts off–but at least I wasn’t crossing the street when the mind went blank. Am I driving?

Man, it seems like you ramped your miles up fast. Nice work. I wish I could do that and not pay for it.

Now I remember why I stopped dying my hair……I never remembered those damn gloves either until it was too late. And if I’m remembering correctly, it took at least a week for the dye to come off my fingers.
