In shreds

My new shredder arrived and I have been shredding with gusto.  I have bank statements and credit card statements and all kinds of paper from years and years back.  Yesterday,  a birthday card from my grandmother from February 1993 came to light–she died on March 3rd of that year.  I didn’t shred that card.

So far I have managed to shred 2 clear bags of paper and everywhere I look there is more paper to be shredded.  The great thing about this shredder is that in addition to shredding CDs and credit cards, it can shred up to 12 pieces of paper at a time.  I didn’t have to do a lot of ripping into envelopes; I just fed them into the shredder and watched the confetti drop into the bucket.

Aside from that, I spoke to a kid from em dot com. This one was 29 years old–young enough to be the son of the Guy from last week.  He asked for my phone number and he called and after one minute of talking to him, it was over.  He probably ISN’T retarded, but he sounded like he was.  I guess that can happen when you teach first grade.  So I hastily retreated from out phone conversation.  Ah, well.

I have letters from my grandma (she passed in ‘95) that are that old…I can’t seem to throw them away either; I’ll leave that up to my kids when I pass.

Too bad “son of Guy” lacked in the brain department. :(

I was going to comment on younger men but I’ll keep my big yap shut for once.
