Update on minutia
I had a very nice weekend with my mother. The visit was precipitated by her February illness and my feeling that I want to prioritize spending time with her. We talked and ate and prepared a mailing and played Scrabble and generally were a family. Apparently 39 years ago, after my father died, my mother fended off a lot of horribles who told her that two people weren’t a family. Wasn’t 1969 grand?
So now I’m back and thinking about my weekend race. My psoas is aching and has been since Tuesday of last week. I don’t think my short run yesterday did it any harm and I know that my chiro will work on it on Thursday wehn I see her. But I wish I felt more ready for the 13 miles. We are doing it as a training run, so I don’t have any particular time goal, but I want to feel good about it. I’ll think of puppies and kitties and see how that works out.
Here is my newly painted bedroom. I still have some furniture to move, but I’m pleased with the progress of last week. My bedroom is small–10×12 feet and I’m glad that it’s cleaner and brighter!

Ooh, nice color! My living room’s about that same yellow. I like the way the color changes as the sun rises and sets. I wish I could share your mom - then we’d be a real family of three! Isn’t it amazing how many stupid people there are in the world?

My kitchen in Chicago was a similar color - you and Claudia and I must have good taste. Also, anyone who might still say two isn’t a family can suck it.
